Hospice Africa Australia

About us

Friends of Hospice Africa in Australia is an Australian registered charity whose purpose is to raise money to support Hospice Africa’s work providing affordable palliative care services to patients and families in Uganda.

FoHAA was founded by a small group of people with connections to Hospice Africa in late 2017, and obtained Australian Registered Charity status on 1 January, 2018. Recruiting members and fundraising efforts commenced immediately, and FoHAA members facilitated a significant donation of over AUD18,000 to be sent direct to Hospice Africa Uganda mid-way through 2018.

The current committee includes James Mackenzie, David Thomas and Barbara Rowett. Over the past 18 months, by a combination of direct donation and active fundraising, we have raised a further AUD12000.
