Introduction

For over three decades, Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU) has stood at the forefront of palliative care, transforming lives through visionary projects and strategic partnerships. By reaching communities across Uganda and Africa, HAU delivers compassionate care for those facing life-limiting illnesses, alleviating pain, and restoring dignity at every stage. Collaborative efforts with local and international partners have expanded access to vital medicines, training, and support, ensuring that vulnerable individuals and their families receive holistic and culturally sensitive care. Through its dedication, HAU continues to serve as a beacon of hope, inspiring positive change in healthcare and championing the right to quality end-of-life care for all in need in Africa.

HAU’s Sustainable Development Goal Impact

HAU’s projects and partnerships significantly advances the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting health and well-being (SDG 3), reducing inequalities in access to care (SDG 10), and fostering partnerships for sustainable development (SDG 17) as well as impacting on other key SDG delivery. HAU’s comprehensive approach integrates pain relief, education, and advocacy, empowering communities while honouring cultural values. By championing equitable healthcare and capacity-building, HAU not only uplifts individuals and families but also contributes meaningfully to a future where compassion and dignity are cornerstones of global development.

HAU tracks the performance of projects through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Impact Assessments. The internal Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system helps HAU to develop strategies to improve future delivery of projects.
