Hospice Africa USA

since 2013

Our History
Hospice Africa USA was established in 2013 by a small group of Americans who had volunteered at Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU) and were inspired to help it thrive.
Its purpose is to support and strengthen HAU as it continues to expand the availability and impact of high-quality palliative care in Uganda and across Africa for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
Driven by a commitment to the HAU vision, mission, and ethos, over the years Hospice Africa USA has provided ongoing financial support to HAU, as well as practical on-the-ground support through visits to Uganda fully funded by the volunteers themselves.
The organisation has in particular provided support to Little Hospice Hoima, and has been supporting and funding the Community Volunteer Workers (CVW) Programme there for many years
